Abstract

From the time immemorial, reading books has been a regular practice, as it has been believed that it would help the reader to explore new avenues. But in the world of technology the habit of reading is waning off. In the present, learners have started losing the pleasure of reading so they must be provided with the strategies to enhance their reading habit. When they are involved in reading they can plunge into the world of knowledge. The knowledge about various subjects and authors get to know about different culture and habit which would help the readers to develop their social responsibilities. Hence this paper proposes to bring awareness about metacognition and its strategies to enhance reading habit which in turn the learners will become socially responsible.
